Au Baron, a brewery and restaurant with traditional and regional cooking, is located near the town of Bavay, which is 12 km east of Maubeuge. Alain Bailleux and his family produce three specialty beers: blonde, ambree and brune. Each "biere de garde" is made from traditional ingredients, unpasteurized and without chemicals. The restaurant is open Friday evenings and Saturdays and Sundays for lunch and dinner. Advanced booking is recommended for individuals and groups.
