Montelimar

Located near the confluence of the Roubion and Rhone rivers, 40 km south of Valence, the market town of Montelimar is famous for its almond-filled nougat, produced here since the 17th century. High above the old town center, the 14th-century Chateau des Adhemar is an interesting stop with its mixture of 12th-, 14th- and 16th-century architectural styles.
