Located NW of Lyon on the right bank of the Allier River, the market town of Moulins served as the seat of the Bourbon Dukes since the 10th century. Today, its main attraction is its Flamboyant Gothic Cathedral of Notre-Dame (rue Louis Mantin), which houses the 15th-century Virgin and Child triptych by painter Jean Perreal, known as the Master of Moulins . The cathedral s 15th-century stained-glass windows feature members of the Bourbon court depicted amid the saints.
