The "School of Nancy" Museum, open to the public since 1964, presents a movement in decorative arts that swept Europe, and particularly Lorraine, at the end of the 19th century -- a precursor to the Art Nouveau movement in France. Housed in the former residence of Eugene Corbin, the museums collection includes works of glass, ceramic, wood and leather by artists such as Galle, Majorelle, Vallin, Gruber, Prouve and Daum. Art Nouveau is also on display through works by Parisian artists such as Carabin, Guimard, Selmersheim and Chaplet.
