Situated at the confluence of the Verse River and the Oise Canal, 92 km NE of Paris and 11 km NE of Compiegne, the cathedral city of Noyon is famous as the birthplace of Jean Calvin, a Protestant theologian and one of the leaders of the Reformation. The 20th-century reconstruction of his former home houses the Musee Jean Calvin.
