Located where the Aspe and Ossau valleys meet, 45 km west of Lourdes, the small town of Oloron lies close to Spain, just over the Somport Pass. Its main attractions are the Romanesque cathedral of Ste-Marie, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, and the church of Ste-Croix, with Moorish influence evident in its design.
