These early 19th-century shopping arcades, built to offer a pedestrian-only area to shop, were dramatically renovated in the 1970s and, today, include an eclectic mix of shops covered by vaulted roofs of iron and glass. They can be found between the Boulevard Montmartre and the Rue St-Marc. The Galerie Vivienne, located off the Rue Vivienne or the Rue des Petits Champs, boasts a mosaic floor and a tearoom.
