The Canal du Rhone au Rhin (Rhone-Rhine Canal) enters the Haut-Rhin department of Alsace from the southwest, cutting through Mulhouse. The canal links the region to the navigable rivers of France, as does the nearby Canal de la Marne au Rhin (Marne-Rhine Canal). Boats are available for rent for cruising the waterways of Alsace.
