Located on the slopes of the right bank of Somme River at its juncture with the Canal de Saint-Quentin, the industrial center of Saint-Quentin is 129 km NE of Paris. The city contains two noteworthy museums: the Musee Antoine Lecuyer (28, rue Antoine Lecuyer), famous for its prestigious collection of pastels by the official portrait artist of Louis XV, and the Musee des Papillons (Espace Saint-Jacques, 14, rue de la Sellerie) which contains the most important collection of butterflies in Europe.
