In the imposing architectural setting of a former Jesuit College founded in 1591, this municipal library is one of only a few examples of libraries in France remaining from pre-Revolutionary days. It houses one of the finest manuscript collections in France, including the "Cantilene de Sainte Eulalie", dating from 882, the first poem written in the French language.
