Located in the hills above the Golfe Juan, just NE of Cannes, Vallauris was made famous by Picasso, who spent 10 years here. The artist first began to work in clay during his stay, reviving Vallauris dying pottery industry. The main square is marked by the bronze statue, Man with a Sheep, donated to the town by Picasso.
