Located on Paces Ferry Rd., the society is housed within a 83,000 square foot museum and features exhibitions about the history of
Atlanta, the Civil War, Southern folk arts, `Gone with the Wind,` and African-American history. Some 33 acres of gardens and woodland trails relate the horticultural history of the area and are the setting for two historic houses: The Swan House, a 1928 classically styled mansion and Tullie Smith Farm, an 1845 plantation plain farmhouse complete with traditional outbuildings.
Hours of operation vary.
