Atlantas premier institution dedicated to presenting and preserving the culture, history and traditions of people of African descent. The APEX has played host to a series of fascinating exhibits since its first, entitled Field to Factory: Afro- American Migration from 1925-1949. It has also recognized the contributions of individuals by hosting receptions for notables such as Julian Bond, Michael Thurmond and Thurbert Baker as well as tributes for individuals named Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall.
