Buford is located in
Gwinnett County just northeast of
Atlanta between Suwanee and Flowery Branch along Highway 20 on the banks of the Chattahoochee River near Lake Sidney Lanier in the
Metro Atlanta Region of the state. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 10,156, an increase of 1,385 since 1990.
