Cleveland is located in
White County, of which it is the county seat, northeast of
Atlanta between Nacochee and Clermont along Highway 129 on the banks of the Lake Sidney Lanier River near the Chattahoochee National Forest. It is in the
Mountains Region of the state. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 1,907, an increase of 254 since 1990.
