Colquitt is located in
Miller County, of which it is the county seat, southwest of
Albany between Blakely and Bainbridge along Highway 27 near Spring Creek and the Flint River in the
Southern Rivers Region of the state. Just east of the Florida and Alabama state lines.
The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 2,012, an increase of 21 since 1990.
It was named after Sen. Walter Colquitt and is the "Mayhaw Capital of the World".
