Demorest

Demorest is located in Habersham County, within Mountains Region, between Clarkesville and Homer on US Highway 441 near Cornelia in the Mountains Region of the state.

It was named after temperance leader W.J. Demorest. It was founded as a dry community in 1889 by settlers from Indiana, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Ohio.
