Founded in 1836, this private institution is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and occupies a 631-acre campus five miles NE of downtown Atlanta. Admission to its 5800-strong undergraduate student body is highly competitive. A large majority of students come from outside Georgia. Fraternities and sororities are very active.
