Georgia Southern Museum |
Located in the Rosenwald Building on the grounds of Georgia Southern University, this museum houses fossilized sea animals as well as two large aquariums that depict sea life on the coastal plains. Also displayed is a 2 pound meteorite fragment that fell in a nearby town. The main attraction is a 26 foot Msasaur skeleton believed to be approximately 78 million years old. The museum also has information and exhibits about an internationally significant whale skeleton reputed to be the oldest in North America.
