Milledgeville is located in
Baldwin County, of which it is the county seat, northeast of
Macon between Eatonton and Hardwick along Highway 441 on the banks of the Oconee River in the
Historic South Region of the state. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 17,917, an increase of 190 since 1990.
