This very competitive university was founded in 1835 as an independent institution offering programs in the liberal arts, business, and teacher preparation. There are 2 undergraduate and 2 graduate schools. The 118 acre campus is in a suburban area 10 miles northeast of downtown
Atlanta. Including residence halls, there are 25 buildings.
Very active fraternities, sororities and over over 50 clubs and organizations are on campus. Campus tours are available through the admissions office.
