Roswell is located in
Fulton County just north of
Atlanta along Highway 19 on the banks of the Chattahoochee River in the
Metro Atlanta Region of the state. Allatoona Lake is located just northwest.
Roswell is part of the Atlanta, Georgia metro area.
It was named after Roswell King, settler. 19th-century textiles center; Sherman's forces burned the mills during the Civil War.
