Located on Prince Ave., this house is a Greek Revival mansion built in the mid-1840s by General Robert Taylor, a planter and cotton merchant. In 1863 the house was purchased by the family of Henry W. Grady, who became managing editor of the `
Atlanta Constitution` and was considered by many to be the spokesman of the New South. Grady was an impressive orator who stressed the importance of reconciliation between the North and South after the Civil War.
The house is restored and furnished in period. Hours of operation vary.
