Located on Telfair Square, this mansion was designed by William Jay in the Regency style and completed in 1819. Several rooms are furnished in period. The mansion's Octagon Room is considered to be one of the finest period rooms in the United States. The permanent collection features works by American Impressionists and European artists. On long-term loan is the `Bird Girl` statue made popular by the book and film `Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.` Traveling exhibitions are also presented.
