Tifton is located in Tift County east of Albany between Adel and Ashburn along Highway 319 near the Little River in the Southern Rivers Region of the state.
It was named for H.H. Tift, sawmill supervisor. Historic museums include Georgia Agrirama Living History Museum, Tifton Museum of Arts & Heritage.
