Waynesboro Georgia

Waynesboro is located in Burke County, of which it is the county seat, just south of Augusta along Highway 25 on the banks of the Creek River near the South Carolina state line in the Historic South Region of the state. Famous as the Bird Dog Capitol of the World.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 5,743, an increase of 74 since 1990.

It was named after Revolutionary War Gen. "Mad Anthony" Wayne.
