This north side beach loses sand to the ground seas in the winter months, but it is replenished in the summers. Exercise caution in summers and don't even think about swimming in the winter swells.
There is also a freshwater stream nearby to wash the salt off. It is located at Mile 2 of the Kalalau Trail which begins at Ke?e SP at the northern end of Kuhio Hwy (Rt 56).
