Hanalei is located on the north-central coast of the island of Kauai Island, between Haena and Princeville along Highway 56 on the banks of the Hanalei River near Lumahai Beach and Hanalei Bay.The village has a charming collection of boutiques, art galleries and restaurants, and is home to the Ching Young Village, which is an open-air shopping center that started as a general store in 1906. Hanalei Bay is a beautiful crescent shaped beach that is carved into the base of a steep cliff on one side and it narrows into a rocky point on the other side. You will find swimming, snorkeling, hiking, kayaking, surfing and other outdoors activities in the area.
