Hawaii Naniloa Hotel

Located on the main tourist street, Banyan Drive. The banyan trees, with their sculpturesque roots and trunks, were planted in the 1930's by visiting celebrities. Guests included Amelia Earhart the aviatrix and FDR.

The wide green park on either side of Banyan Drive is site of all the businesses swept away by a tsunami in 1960, killing scores. Today it is called Liliuokalani Gardens, with pagodas, stocked ponds, oriental bridges and a teahouse.

The Sandalwood Restaurant is on premises with an all-you-can-eat buffet with prime rib and Alaskan King Crab legs Friday and Saturday. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. The Breakwater Room Lounge dishes up disco weekends.
