Jacaranda Inn Bed and Breakfast |
The Jacaranda Inn is one of the Big Island's most historic homes. Built in 1897 as a residence for the Parker Ranch manager, this spectacular estate has played an important part in the history of the Big Island's ranching legacy. The home was purchased by Laurance Rockefeller in 1961 while developing the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. This estate became his private residence and a place to entertain his guests, including Jackie Kennedy and Henry Kissinger. The Jacaranda Inn has been remodeled to an inn reflecting turn of the century up-country "paniolo" elegance. The main house is surrounded by eleven acres of mountain views, waterfalls, formal gardens and eight luxurious suites.
The main house is a trip into the past with old Hawaiian-Victorian elegance. Rich native koa woods, deep classic raspberry tones and charming antiques. Eight very romantic suites each with a different theme, from Hawaiian ranch style to old English manor...overlooking English gardens and lush tropical landscaping.
