Kahanamoku Beach and Lagoon

This beach is in front of the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki and is named for the famous Olympic swimming champion Duke Kahanamoku. The beach is protected by fringing reefs which form a peaceful lagoon with calm waters. The beach has swimming and snorkeling and a rental shop on the beach rents equipment such as fins and masks. Surfboards can also be rented and catamaran cruises depart from here. There are showers, a sand volleyball court and a snack bar. This is a famous tourist beach.
