Kailua Kona is located in
Hawaii County on the
Hawaii the Big Island, between
Kealakekua and Honokohau along Highway 11 near
Holualoa,
Keauhou, and the
Kaloko-Honokohau National Historic Park.
Kailua-Kona is the center for many coastal recreational activities, such as wind surfing, para sailing, surfing, fishing and whale watching. Other things to do include taking a submarine excursion, sunset dinner cruises around the bay, and in October, the town is host to the Kona Coffee Festival.
