Mauna Kea Beach Hotel

This world class hotel has an 18 hole par 72 golf course that was literally carved from an oceanfront desert of lava and scrub brush. It was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. Golf Digest gives it top ratings.

The hotel was originally built by Laurance S Rockefeller's Rockresorts in 1965 and underwent a complete remodeling in 1994. In addition to the golf course, there are up-country horse stables, beach facilities, restaurants and bars.

The hotel has 310 rooms and 4,500 sq ft of meeting space, with two meeting rooms and a business center.
