Mauka Makai Excursions provides field trips, ecotours and hikes to cultural and archeological sites. This Hawaiian owned and operated company takes small groups of no more than eight on full day trips.
In the morning, you head mauka towards the mountains and visit ancient heiaus, taro patches and fishing shrines. The tour then heads makai, towards the ocean, for a no-host lunch and shoreline activities which may include exploring tidepools, fishing by throwing a net or surf casting, making crafts and sunning and swimming.
