Pioneer Inn

The Pioneer Inn was the only visitor accommodation in west Maui Island until the 1950's. The Pioneer Inn was built in 1901 by George Freeland a Canadian mountie.

Tourists today get a good laugh from the original house rules of behavior posted in the lobby for rough trade. This Lahaina landmark remains a favorite of cruising sailors and adventurers from around the world.
