Samuel M Spencer Beach Park

Located on the Kohala Coast is popular for swimming year round. The gently sloping white sand beach is protected by a fringing reef making it safe for swimming year round. Kawaihae Harbor is about a mile to the north on Hwy 270.

The entry road is up the hill from Kawaihae Harbor. The park is idyllic with tropical birds living in the trees on the grounds. There are cooking and camping facilities and a large covered pavillion with electric hookups.

Other facilities are tennis courts and showers. Midway between the park and the harbor are the Puukohola and Mailekini heiaus. This park is popular with local families because of its safe swimming and convenient amenities.
