Ackley Iowa

Located in Hardin Countyin the North Central Region of Iowa north of Eldora between Iowa Falls and Austinville along US Highway 20, Ackley was named for William J. Ackley, head of the Dubuque & Pacific Railroad. Many early settlers came from Ostfriesland, Germany.

There are numerous recreational and historical points of interest in Ackley. Sauerkraut Days is a community festival. Event dates often change so check ahead. Prairie Bridges State Park is located here along with the Ackley Heritage Center.
