The Hotel Muscatine, built in 1914, has maintained the historic splendor of a classic beauty from a past era. During the 1920's, the Hotel was visited by the elite of the Midwest. The Ballroom floors were lined with slot machines, and the cafeteria was known for "good food, good service, and reasonable prices." The same holds true today! Reconstruction took place in 1940 as marble for the front desk and lobby arrived from Italy. In 1983, major restoration returned the oak pillars and banisters to their original patina. The first three floors were remodeled into spacious offices, and the main floor meeting room became Casey's Landing Lounge. The decor included cherry woodwork, arched windows and a warm fireplace. The fifth and sixth floors became elegant suites and executive rooms. The rooms are decorated with a Victorian charm and most offer a beautiful river view.
