Floyd Valley Hospital (FVH) was founded on December 1, 1966, as a General Hospital operated for the benefit of the members of the Floyd Valley community. The hospital was called Floyd Valley Hospital to convey the message that the hospital would serve people of a broader region than Le Mars.

FVH is a municipally-owned, state licensed, full-service 44-bed, general acute care hospital providing 4 levels of care: observation, acute, skilled, and extended.
