Elberon Public Library, serving an area of 720 residents, has a collection of 7,200 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 63 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 189 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes. Internet terminals are available for use by the general public. Staffing consists solely of volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $2,500. Patrons make 2,900 visits annually, and check out materials 4,000 times. Eighty percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
