The mall features a number of bronze statues created by Nez Perce descendant Doug Hyde, an internationally acclaimed sculptor of American Indian images. Created as a centerpiece of the Centennial Mall project in 1993, these statues and the landscaped areas in which they are located are monuments to the past and pillars for the future.
The Mall also incorporates the Wall of History, a brick-capped tribute wall linking the statue area with the Centennial Amphitheater, an outdoor venue for plays, concerts, public images and classes, and the Historic Tree Grove, a tribute to the region's natural resources and their impact on both the past and future.
