Newcomer Center

Newcomer Center offers a new program for students who did not speak English. Students are given a language test and if they qualify, they are eligible to attend the school for a period of 9 months or more. The students are instructed by a staff of expert teachers and paraprofessionals. The curriculum's emphasis is on English, reading, math and computer skills. Each classroom has a set of computers. Students who leave the school are tested to make sure they have the basic survival English skills needed to be successful in their home schools.
