Mackay is a
Custer County community on the
Big Lost River, just below the
Mackay Reservoir, on US 93 north of Butte City.
It has history as a mining settlement, and today is one of the Wests last real ranching communities, surrounded by Idahos nine highest peaks. Outdoors-oriented tourism is growing there.
