Meridian Idaho |
Part of the Boise, Idaho metro area, Meridian was founded as an agricultural community. Settlers homesteaded along Five Mile Creek in the 1870s. Two of the present businesses date back as far as Meridian's incorporation in 1903--the newspaper and a drug store that is one of the oldest continuously operating pharmacies in Idaho. The city was named Meridian because it lies on the Boise Meridian. It is in Ada County.
There is also a Meridian, Texas.
