Minnetonka Cave

One of the Natural Geological Wonders of the Intermountain Region

This spectacular limestone formation is open from about the second weekend in June through Labor Day. Tours take place every half hour between 10:30 and 5:00 and usually take about 90 minutes. The cave is located ten miles west of St Charles off Hwy 89.

The cave opens to a stone stairway that leads into the depths of the mountain. There are 448 steps into the cave.

Located at the upper end of St Charles Canyon, the mouth is 7,700 feet above sea level. Visitors to the cave travel a half mile past formations with names like Three Sisters, Kermits Castle and the Grasshopper. The cave was discovered in 1906 and is presently managed by the USFS.
