One of the small towns near
Kellogg that thrived during the silver boom years, Murray lies on Pritchard Creek Road, and on the creek itself.
Many colorful characters are buried in the town's historic cemetary, including Captain Toncray, thought to be the inspiration for Mark Twain's character Huck Finn.
Murray was the home of Molly B'Damm, a colorful madam who also cared for the town's miners during a scarlet fever epidemic.
Murray is in Shoshone County.
