New Meadows

New Meadows lies on US 95 at its junction with Hwy 55 at the south end of a valley in Adams County that is one of the most beautiful in the state. Before the arrival of the white man, the Nez Perce Indians called the place Salmon Meadows because of the abundance of salmon in the Little Salmon River. The ranching and logging basis for New Meadows' economy is being supplemented by tourism.
