Adams County that is one of the most beautiful in the state. Before the arrival of the white man, the
Nez Perce Indians called the place Salmon Meadows because of the abundance of salmon in the Little Salmon River. The ranching and logging basis for New Meadows' economy is being supplemented by tourism.
