Pierce

The gateway into the beautiful Clearwater backcountry.

Found in Clearwater County on Hwy 11 east of Lewiston, the Pierce area is crisscrossed by crystal clear trout streams such as Kelly Creek, Cayuse Creek and the North Fork of the Clearwater River. It is also an area widely known for its Elk herds, but there are also populations of black bear, mountain goat, white-tailed and mule deer, moose and mountain lion. Also nearby is the Mallard Larkin Wilderness Area, know for its ice blue lakes and pristine meadows. Just south of Pierce is the Lolo Motorway which follows the route of the Lewis and Clark expedition.

The area in and around Pierce offers a vast array of outdoor experiences such as hunting, fishing, hiking, backpacking, berry picking, gold panning, photography opportunities, and trails for ATV's, motorcycles and snowmobiles as well as a downhill ski area and cross-country skiing.

There is also a Pierce, Nebraska.
