In
Camas County, the ghost town of Soldier is located two miles northeast of
Fairfield on Deer Creek Road, on the way to Soldier Mountain. Soldier still boasts a few year-round residents and a few original structures, some still being lived in. It was once the largest community on Camas Prarie.
