Sun Valley Idaho |
Just off Hwy 75, Sun Valley was America's first ski resort. Developed through the efforts of Averill Harriman, it became (and remains) famous as a playground for the stars. The resort is east of Ketchum in Blaine County.
Ernest Hemingway arrived in Sun Valley in 1939 to work on his novel, "For Whom The Bell Tolls." Hemingway is buried in Ketchum, where he died on July 2, 1961.
There is also a Sun Valley, California.
